← BackTERMS OF SERVICE

Last updated: 3 July 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Mise app and services (“Mise”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Mise, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Mise.

1. Who can use Mise

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must work (or have worked) in hospitality: cooks, chefs, servers, bartenders, hosts, pastry, catering.
  • You need a valid invite code during the closed beta.
  • You must give truthful information about yourself.
  • One account per person.

2. What Mise is (and is not)

Mise is a communication platform where hospitality workers can post a photo and description of their staff meal, browse what other workers nearby are eating, and message each other to coordinate an in-person trade of meals.

Mise does not handle, sell, prepare, deliver, transport, package, or inspect any food. Every meal exchange happens directly and voluntarily between users, off-platform, in the physical world.

3. Food safety, allergies, and health — very important

You accept these risks before using Mise:

  • Meals shown in Mise are prepared by individual users in kitchens Mise does not audit. We do not verify hygiene, storage temperature, cross-contamination, allergen handling, or ingredient labeling.
  • You are responsible for asking the other user about allergens, ingredients, and preparation. If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, do not rely on Mise to protect you.
  • You accept a trade at your own risk. If you feel unsure, do not eat the meal.
  • Mise is not liable for any illness, injury, allergic reaction, food poisoning, or health consequence caused by any meal exchanged through the app.

4. Trades between users

When you agree to a trade, you enter a direct arrangement with the other user. Mise is not a party to that arrangement. We do not guarantee that the other user will show up, deliver the promised meal, or behave respectfully. If there is a dispute, you and the other user work it out. We may deactivate accounts that break these Terms based on reports, but we do not mediate personal disputes.

5. What you must not do

You may not use Mise to:

  • Sell meals for money (Mise is for trading, not selling).
  • Post food you did not prepare or that is unsafe, spoiled, or from an unlicensed source.
  • Post pictures that are not the actual meal on offer.
  • Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or dox other users.
  • Impersonate someone else, share credentials, or run multiple accounts.
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or automate the app in ways that violate its intended use.
  • Break any applicable law (Danish, EU, or wherever you are located).

6. Content and licence

You own the photos, text, ratings, and messages you post to Mise. By posting, you grant Mise a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and transmit that content for the purpose of running the app — showing your meal to nearby users, delivering your messages, showing your ratings. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account (subject to backups being retired within 30 days).

You must have the right to post what you post. Do not upload photos of other people without their consent.

7. Ratings and notes

Star ratings are public and contribute to a user’s reputation. Private notes attached to a rating are visible only to the person who wrote them and are never shared with the rated user or third parties (except when required by law).

8. Suspension and termination

We can suspend or delete any account that violates these Terms, poses a risk to other users, or misuses the platform. We try to give notice, but for serious violations we may act immediately. You can delete your own account any time from Settings.

9. Availability, changes, and beta

Mise is provided “as is”. We do not promise uptime, that the app is free of bugs, or that it will always be available. We may add, change, or remove features. During the closed beta, expect friction, bugs, and rough edges.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Danish law, Mise’s total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of your use of the app is limited to DKK 500 or the equivalent in your local currency. Mise is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profit, data, goodwill, or health outcomes from meals exchanged through the platform.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory Danish or EU consumer law.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we use it. By using Mise you accept it.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Copenhagen. If you are a consumer resident in another EU country, mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence still apply.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes are announced at least 14 days in advance via email or in-app banner. Continued use after the effective date counts as acceptance.
